ELECTRONEWS : Quando e come ti sei avvicinato alla musica elettronica? Ricordi un evento speciale che ha marcato la tua carriera da dj?

M.SUCKUT : Ho inizato a sentire la musica elettronica all’incirca nel 1999. Era molto interessante a quel tempo ed era per me una nuova esperienza, da lì ho iniziato a comprare la mia prima attrezzatura, tra cui qualche disco, e ho cominciato ad esercitarmi. La cosa più bella è che avevo un compagno di classe a cui piacevano le mie stesse cose, così abbiam cominciato a condividere le nostre passioni.

Direi quella notte al Berghain l’anno scorso, che mi ha fatto capire che stavo facendo un ottimo lavoro,meglio di quello che pensavo.

ELECTRONEWS : Quali sono gli artisti che ti hanno influenzato maggiormente??

M.SUCKUT : Sono troppo quelli da nominare, direi semplicemente tutti gli artisti di cui posseggo i dischi, perché tutto quello che compro mi influenza.

ELECTRONEWS : Fai parte della famiglia di Len Faki e le tue produzioni sono uscite sulla sua prestigiosa label “Figure” , e presto rilascerai il tuo nuovo Ep “M”, come e quando nasce la vostra collaborazione?

M.SUCKUT : La prima volta che siamo entrati in contatto, era più o meno un anno prima che la mia release fosse rilasciata sulla sua label. A Len piaceva molto il materiale che gli mandavo però non voleva rilasciarlo. Mi disse di restare in contatto e di tenerlo aggiornato sulle mie produzioni, ed è quello che ho fatto.

Sono molto fiero di far parte della label “Figure” , è come se fosse una famiglia gigante. Tutti gli artisti che ho conosciuto fin ora sono amichevoli e si rispettano a vicenda.In questi ultimi tempi Len ed io siamo diventati dei buoni amici , è sempre divertente quando ci incontriamo, suonando e girando insieme. E’ un buon maestro per me.

ELECTRONEWS : Quest’anno hai lanciato la tua label “SCKT” che vede esclusivamente uscite in vinile, quali saranno i progetti futuri??

M.SUCKUT : E’ giusto che le uscite siano esclusivamente in vinile, è stato un lungo processo arrivare a questo punto in cui mi vedo soddisfatto in pieno.Alla fine ne è  valsa la pena perché tutto è andato come avevo previsto. “SCKT” è stata ideata come una piattaforma per rilasciare esclusivamente le mie produzioni, il sound è come un ” Work in progress”.

Mi piace rilasciare  tracce che posso aggiungere ai miei dj set, perché amo suonare un po’ più (Tooly) grezzo. E’ una piattaforma completamente personale, artwork e tutte le altre cose sono fatte da me stesso.

Ho appena finito “SCKT 02 ” sarà una release di 3 tracce e verrà rilasciata dopo l’estate. Successivamente rilascerò 4 remix divisi in 2 Ep, e a dirvi la verità non ho ancora deciso le date d’uscita.

ELECTRONEWS : Quali sono gli artisti con cui vorresti realmente collaborare ?

M.SUCKUT : Vorrei collaborare con un bel po’ di artisti, ma la cosa brutta è che quando collabori con gli altri devi sempre avere dei compromessi. E’ andata molto bene lo scorso anno con Jeroen Search e abbiamo in programma un altro Ep insieme. Non abbiamo la sicurezza di quando comincerà il progetto ma ultimamente ci teniamo molto in contatto.

Sotto sotto le collaborazioni, a mio avviso, saranno molto rare.

ELECTRONEWS : Puoi dire ai fan di http://electronews.net/ quali saranno le tue prossime serate?

ELECTRONEWS : When and how did you get involved into electronic music ? Do you remember a special occurrence that marked your dj career ?

M.SUCKUT : I’ve started listening to electronic music around 1999. It was really interesting for me at this time and a whole new experience to me, so I’ve started to buy some equipment, few records and started practicing. Good thing at that time was that I had a classmate who were into electronic music also at that time, so we exchanged our learned techniques and so on.

Well I would say that night at Berghain last year really gave me the feeling that I am doing good and  better than I ever thought.

ELECTRONEWS : Which are the artists that influenced you the most ?

M.SUCKUT : Way too much to mention. I would simply say those guys I own records from, cause everything I buy is influencing me in a way.

ELECTRONEWS : You are part of Len Faki’s family and your productions came out on his prestigious label “Figure” and soon you will release your new Ep “M” , when and how your cooperation was founded ?

M.SUCKUT : First time we got in contact was around one year before my first release on his imprint, the “J”, got released. Len was really into the stuff I’ve send to him but he didn’t wanted to release it. So he asked me to keep in touch and to keep him up to date with my productions. That’s what I did.

I am so proud to be part of the Figure imprint, it’s like a huge family. All the artists I’ve met so far are friendly and respect each other a lot. Len and me became good friends during that time, it’s always fun when we meet, play together and hang around. He is a good mentor to me.

ELECTRONEWS : This year you launched your label “SCKT” a vinyl only label, can you tell us which are your future projects for your label ?

M.SUCKUT : Yes that’s right, it was a long process until I got to the point where I really was satisfied with everything. In the end it was worth it, cause everything worked out just like I imagined. SCKT is meant to be a platform just for my own productions and the sound is more kind of work in progress, more like tools and sometimes just drafts which I work on a bit more. I am able to release what I love to play when I dj, because I really like to play more tooly. It’s the most personal thing I can put out because artwork and all that things are done by myself.

I just finished SCKT02, will be a three tracker again and it’s planned to get released after the summer. Also four remixes will follow, divided in two EP’s. But to be honest, I haven’t set release dates for the remixes.

ELECTRONEWS : With which artist would you really want to work with ?

M.SUCKUT : Well there are a few artists, but the bad thing is when you do collaborations you always have to do compromises. It worked out with Jeroen Search very well last year and we plan to do another EP together. We are not sure when we will start that project again, but we’ve talked about continuing already.

In the end collaborations will be really rare I guess.
