Im esclusiva per Electronews una breve intervista a una giovane Producer / Dj tedesca , davvero molto brava e simpatica , ha gia’ collaborato con nomi importanti e dal nulla ha iniziato a ritrovarsi in un maelstrom di notorieta’ e party . Ci propone un suo mix esclusivo , molto minimal e soft , gustoso fino in fondo , per momenti di relax casalinghi , o lunghi viaggi in macchina!

Bon giorno!?!? )) I’m excited too! That’s my first interview for Italy!

Tell us a little of ‘you, where you were born, your story , and when you started to realize that music was your way?

I was born in Greiz which is a small town in Thuringia. It’s also called “the green heart of Germany”. There I went to school and when I was 20 I went to Jena to university, where I first got in contact to electronic music through the record label “Freude am Tanzen”. The people of the label have a DJ workshop that is called “Young Folks On Decks” and there I learned to play with records

Im listening your last mix , im literally spellbound, is terribly sweet and charmy, with the injection of pure and raw electronic music., you are really in-love with minimal?

Minimal electronic music is a nice style, but for my taste there has always got to be something special behind it. That’s why I especially like drums and percussions in minimal tracks and in my sets, I mostly mix it up with other styles like house or tech house. Therefore, like the early tracks of Mathias Kaden on Vakant Records. I think he found a good way to create tracks that on the one hand are definitely minimal, but otherwise you really could shake your hips to the music

I love Germany , fresh mind , young people , new sounds everywhere; i think is the “new heart” of europe , artistically talking, what do you think about ?

Oh, that is very kind of you! Germany is country of poets and thinkers )) there were famous componists and writers from here and Germany is still cultural important for Europe. Also in the field of electronic music, Germany is really essential in Europe, with many good labels, DJs and producers, or of course cities like Berlin or Frankfurt. Clubs like Berghain or Cocoon are famous all over the world! Last week I was in Berlin in different clubs and if you listened, you sometimes could here more than five different languages at a time, I think. That’s crazy.

Talking about serious things, are you intersted to be booked for a night in rome?

Wow, I would feel very happy about that. I never went to Italy for DJing or clubbing, it would be the first time. I only know some famous clubs like Ghoa or Echoes in Rome where I would like to go and of course I would like to play there, too it would be so great!

Italy is returning in force with minimal music, and hard and cruel techno , depriving the ordinary fashion of nu rave. What do you think of this musical genre that has now taken root among the most ‘young?

Oh that’s difficult to say for me. Nu rave is everywhere at the moment, but it’s not my style. I think there are also many DJs that only play this kind of music because it’s “trendy” at the moment. I think it’s OK if Italy goes in another direction with minimal techno. In my country, nu rave is also very famous now, but my music is more housy and not too fast … and I think, no matter what will be “in” in the future, I will always stick to my own taste. Good choice, Italy!

You ve ever been in Italy for business or pleasure?

Yeah, I was in Italy two times. The first time in 2000 for holiday at the Adrian Sea, then 2006, this was a school trip to Florence. Both journeys were very nice and I like Italy, the climate, the sea, the people of course and the culture. Now it’s time to discover the musical scene!

So…. you have a funny story to share with us?

Oh, the only funny story I can tell is to see myself as an electronic musician. Seven or eight years ago when I was 15, all my clothes were black, I had black boots and went to gothic festivals. I never thought of me going to clubs like Berghain or Robert Johnson, or spinning records myself. But it all changed when I went to Jena. It’s crazy but now electronic music is my life and that’s very very good, but it’s really a funny story I think )

You play only in digital mode or you still like the feel of vinyl?

Of course, I sometimes use CDs to play my own productions or tracks that are only available digitally on the internet. But normally I’m still one of the few people who mainly play with real vinyl. People always ask “Why don’t you play digital, it’s cheaper and you don’t have to carry so much with you!” I’m not such a tall person and it may look funny when I’m carrying a big record case ) I think it’s an emotional thing! Besides, when you play with vinyl you definitely have a great sound and when you play digital you always have to look into your computer … if you play with vinyl you are feeling much more and have time to communicate with the people.

What you see in your future??

Oh that’s a difficult question … at the moment, I’m studying German and Arts and will be finishing my B.A. studies soon. After that I will go on studying with M.A.
Music of course will still play a big role in my life, of course, as it does today. I started producing my own tracks a short time ago and will go on with it in the future, and I always try to get better! For example, I will learn to play percussions professionally soon to get a more rhythmical feeling and to use it in my productions.

Finalmente torniamo alle origini! Quest’anno il Time Warp , ( ovvero uno dei festival piu’ belli in europa) tornera’ nella sua citta “preferita”. Dopo un paio di edizioni passate a Mannheim , torneremo in terre olandesi , e per la precisione ad Amsterdam!

L’ultima edizione per chi ha partecipato e’ stata davvero indimenticabile , e il padrone di casa Sven Vath , ha dato il meglio di se , con un set davvero “eccessivamente ignorante”. Il 4 settembre con il mega ospite Sven Vath, chiude la stagione estiva 2010 del Cocoricò. Una stagione che si è rivelata un’altro passo avanti gigantesco per la storia del club più importante del nostro paese. I numeri parlano chiaro, un incremento di pubblico e dell’indice di gradimento che in un periodo di crisi come questo significa tantissimo. Grazie a tutti voi che ci avete regalato questo successo.

Tanti dj si atteggiano a rockstar, pochi lo sono!! Uno di questi è papà SvenVäth, guru della techno ma anche instancabile animale da palcoscenico.
Come le rockstar, Sven fa evento a sé : era già uno degli artefici di “Electrica Salsa”, nel 1986 (!). Non per niente la sua etichetta si chiama Cocoon : l’energia dell’ universo è tutta dentro quest’uomo di 45 anni. 
Ricordate : le rockstar sono immortali!!

Dopo un’ estate trascorsa a fomentare le folle di mezzo mondo, iniziata in Sud Africa , poi in California e conclusa e nei migliori club italiani e europei …..torna a Roma il duo di Milano dopo il successo ottenuto a marzo scorso con il loro potentissimo show.

Il progetto Cyberpunkers nasce nel 2006 dalla passione per la cultura cyberpunk di due giovani dj’s milanesi. Il format punta a dare una nuova interpretazione a questo stile tramite l’ausilio di quattro forme d’arte connesse: musica elettronica, moda, design e fotografia…in breve: una trasfigurazione del mondo cyberpunk che prende vita nell’ambito del clubbing. Hanno prodotto 3 Ep e molti remix, tra cui “Change”, brano nato da una collaborazione tra Morricone e Coolio. 
Nei loro live indossano maschere dietro le quali nascondono le loro identità, usano due consolle e svariati macchinari audio. Il duo ha suonato ai maggiori festivals in tutta europa alternandosi sul palco con artisti di fama mondiale.

Green & blue e’ probabilmente il piu’ bel party open air di musica elettronica in germania , finalmente dopo 2 anni ritorna alle sue origini acquatiche ( con una nuova location sul lago Waldsee) permettendoci di farci una nuotata rinfrescante dopo una giornata di fiesta!.

Quest’anno per renderci felici saranno presenti all’appello nomi grossi e importanti , primo fra tutti Sven Vath , organizzatore dell evento. ma non mancheranno Ricardo Villalobos , Michael Cleiss , Steve Bug , Karotte , Joris Voorn , Guy Geber ed altri ancora, che renderanno rovente la giornata per un party sicuramente impengativo ma anche rilassante. Il tutto si svolgera’ sul lago Waldsee ,  a Francoforte , proprio dietro l’aereoporto. Ovviamente il biglietto del festival  consente l’utilizzo di tutti i mezzi di trasporto pubblici gratuitamente per arrivare alla location.

Quindi se il 12 settembre non avete proprio nulla da fare , potrebbe essere la gita giusta per rilassarsi un po’ a suon di nuotate e minimal bollente!

Roma entra nel circuito internazionale dell’entertainment musicale: arriva IPM Preview

Sono ormai anni che le maggiori capitali mondiali promuovono la connessione tra gli operatori e l’industria dell’entertainment musicale e artistico. Finalmente Roma si inserisce in questo contesto e presenta IPM, International Promoters Meeting di musica dance ed elettronica, ponendo al centro dell’attenzione la figura del promoter. Il promoter, profilo poliedrico e vero link tra pubblico, aziende e operatori del mondo della musica e dell’intrattenimento, diviene protagonista, guadagnando la rilevanza che merita.

IPM Preview 2010 rappresenta l’introduzione all’IPM del 2011, con un line up di tutto rispetto. Il 17, 18 e 19 luglio la capitale sarà sede e cassa di risonanza per i vari showcase, workshop e live performance di ospiti internazionali, permettendo così un contatto capillare con il territorio ed il coinvolgimento diretto del pubblico.

Il 18 luglio torna il Rome PoolParty, il day event più atteso della capitale, giunto alla sua settima edizione si inserisce nella programmazione di IPM: anche quest’anno il Radisson Blu Es.hotel, aprirà le porte di tutte le 232 stanze, per il day party pensato a metà tra una festa privata e un rito collettivo, un format che la FCO ha importato dalla west coast americana. Quentin Harris (USA), Sarah Favouritizm (UK), Neil Pierce (UK), Luis Radio (IT) e EC (UK) i nomi che si alterneranno ai piatti a partire dalle 10,00 del mattino fino alle ore 21,00. Dalle 23,00 l’elegante lounge Es.Libris dell’hotel si animerà per lo showcase tandem  del “Cielo” di New York e “DC10” di Ibiza con Willie Graff (USA), Tania Vulcano (Uruguay) e Nicolas Matar (USA). Contemporaneamente il SetteConference ospiterà Margaret Dygas (POL) e Minimono (IT) per il “Club der Visionaere” di Berlino.

Il Radisson non sarà l’unica location coinvolta: sabato 17 luglio le organizzazioni Dissonanze e GoaClub accenderanno la notte del lungotevere con un esclusivo party al Magick Bar on stage Giancarlino  (IT), Dj W!ld (FR) e  Mass Prod Live (Swiss).

Lunedì 19 il party di chiusura, scandito dall’inconfondibile ritmo di Timo Maas (Germany), Sossa (IT) e Kikko Messina (IT) al Room26, il club situato nel quartiere Eur che in due soli anni di vita si è imposto come roccaforte dell’house music italiana e internazionale.

La Preview, concepita dal Room26 in collaborazione con l’Adv Holding e patrocinata dal Comune di Roma è destinata ad un vasto pubblico di addetti ai lavori, leader del settore e imprenditori. Per il 2011 questo evento unico nel panorama italiano ha come mission la promozione di contatti tra i maggiori players del settore dell’entertainment musicale e artistico a livello internazionale.

Cresciuta musicalmente con l’elettronica sperimantale di Pan Sonic, Thomas Fehlmann, Boards of Canada e Autechre, Simona Calvani in arte DJ RED oggi Ë una artista esperta e richiesta in tutta la penisola. Complice di iniziative di successo, legate all’elettronica più intelligente, come la rassegna Modula del Goa, nei dj set ha sviluppato una propensione per l’eclettismo mantenendo come comune denominatore l’innovazione del suono elettronico.
Il sound presenta infatti elementi della minimal techno pi_ radicale, del brakbeat e dell’electro. Da mesi sta lavorando in studio ed ha iniziato a realizzare tracce per la neonata etichetta Unpolite dando alla luce il meraviglioso EP Silk or Metal i cui brani sono immediatamente stati inseriti nelle compilation Green and Blue di Cocoon e del magazine Mixmag.
