1994, Roland TR-909. Some numbers and names that may sound familiar to someone. They sure do to the dutch-turkish producer Anil Aras, nowadays one of the few guys around using such a machine to play in live sets. After having released throughout 2012 some garage-y bangers – such as Don’t Give Up – he put together a solid record digging again into house music’s past and probably into his collection of vinyls from New Jersey: the outcomes were “1994″ and “You & I”, two tracks similar in structure but yet incredibly shaped, catchy and unmistakably old school. Pushed by the british breaking-through duo Bicep on their blog Feelmybicep, the EP has already received great support from all over. The release process has also been loyal to its origins: vinyl only and 500 copies worldwide to be sold. So go get your copy, if there’s still any around!

1994, Roland TR-909. Numeri e nomi che potrebbero risultare familiari a qualcuno. Certamente al produttore olandese Anil Aras, uno dei pochi oggi ad avventurarsi in live set con la sua amata 909.  E non solo, anche in grado di produrre un’uscita incredibilmente suggestiva, scavando nelle radici della house e probabilmente trovando ispirazione nella propria collezione di vinili provenienti dal New Jersey. Il risultato? “1994″ e “You & I”, due tracce simili nella struttura ma incredibilmente funzionanti e inequivocabilmente old school. Fatta conoscere al grande pubblico dal duo britannico Bicep attraverso il seguitissimo blog Feelmybicep, la release ha già ottenuto il pollice in sù di numerosi addetti ai lavori. Anche il processo di rilascio dell’uscita ha seguito regole ben precise: vinyl only e 500 copie in tutto il mondo. Andate a prendere la vostra, se ancora non lo avete fatto!
